SLA President's Message - March 2010
President's Message - March 2010
Our meeting in February was very interesting. Dr. Ralph Moon presented us with an hour of CE credit on the timely topic of the "Duration of a Water Loss" and HSA Engineers & Scientists sponsored the lunch. Dr. Moon's presentation had many amazing photos and time line graphs illustrating the history of water saturation and mold growth in building materials. This is very useful information if you need to determine how long water has been leaking or if there has been multiple occurrences.
The day after our last meeting, the Atlanta area received an unusual 3-5 inches of snow. I spent Friday afternoon making a snow man and throwing snow balls with my 10 year old son, Harper. This weather event sure was a pleasant break from handling claims.
The Golf Committee recently met on Tuesday, February 16. I would like to personally thank Melessa Bizzarro of EPIC Response and Susan Freeman for chairing the committee. I also appreciate and want to recognize Dayle Thompson of Full Circle, Jennifer Hagerman and Heather of Premier Restoration, Janet Nash of White- Hart, Melanie Martin of Temporary Housing Directory, Lizzy Rosen-Myers of Blue Sky Restoration. Thank you Hope Harlow at Cerney & Ivey for organizing the tennis and Dennis Neas for handling the registration for golf and tennis. We have a great crew of folks and we all look forward to attending the golf and tennis outing on April 22, 2010. A copy of the event registration form is included in the newsletter and SLA webpage. Please send it in soon to reserve your spot at Chateau Elan.
